Introduction

I would like to discuss financial instruments and the markets with traders who understand supply and demand.

Loaded Question: Name your favorite books, newsletters, websites, subscribtion services, signal services, seminars, speakers?

Books: Fooled by Randomness, Rise and Fall of Long Term Capital Management. I use Transact Futures for data and TP futures for execution. I'm not a fan of seminars in general and I avoid news-based trading.

Do you trade for a living? How long have you been day trading?

I've been trading as a hobby for 3 years; I go through periods of focused, profitable trading followed by "give-it-back" episodes of impatience/overconfidence. So I'm a break-even trader right now. I'd like to go full time profitable this year.

What platforms to you trade on (Brokers etc) and why? Do you use backtesting software or websites?

I used to use Tradestation, but since I stopped backtesting and writing algorithms I know use Sierra Charts with Transact Futures data. I execute through TradePortal Futures. I have found these services to be economical and reliable.

What is your trading style: (ie- Swing, support/resistance, Fibs, indicators, system trader, subscription signals etc) What time frame to you trade?

Support resistance with trends. In terms of time frame, if my trade rules are satisfied and my risk parameters are not violated I take the trade. I exit the trade when my stop or target is hit. Sometimes that takes 5 min, sometimes 5 hours...

What day is best for you to meet? What entities do you currently trade? Stocks, options, futures, forex, ETF, etc-

My schedule is pretty open. I trade equity index futures. I used to trade currencies, commodities, and energies, but I found myself getting disoriented spreading my attention so thin.

Additional Information

"I do trader coaching and educating alongside my actual trading. I definitely trade better while I'm working with clients, just as I play tennis better when I am coaching it. They say one of the best ways to learn something is to teach it."
